English Melbourne Cup hope Yellowstone is a doubtful starter in next weeks big race after injuring himself in a stable accident.
A day after talking up the horse's chances, trainer Jane Chapple-Hyam said Yellowstone had become cast in his box and injured his hip.
The trainer said Yellowstone had made slight improvement since she and her staff discovered the horse had got down in his box.
"He loves to roll," Chapple-Hyam said.
"It looks like he's had a roll in his box and got stuck, you can see the scratches all over the walls where he has thrashed about."
It is believed the horse hurt himself as he struggled to his feet.
"Today I have decided to give him box rest and he will have physiotherapy later today," she said.
Yellowstone's prospects of getting to the start will depend largely on the exact location of the injury and what treatment is available to him.
