Headshot of the amazing Auckland Reactor

Exciting pacer Auckland Reactor stretched his unbeaten record to 13 with an arrogant display of power pacing in the Addington Free-For-All in Christchurch yesterday.

His last 800m split of 58.6sec was the fastest ever officially clocked at NZ's leading track.

It moved trainer-driver Mark Purdon to declare him "a real champion".

"He's the best, quite clearly. There is no doubt about it."

Auckland Reactor will now clash with the best pacers in NZ on Friday in the NZ Free-For-All (2000m), before taking on the best on both sides of the Tasman in the Miracle Mile at Harold Park in Sydney on November 28.

Auckland Reactor has made a miraculous recovery from a potential career-ending injury when he became cast in his box on the eve of a big race assignment in May of this year, and yesterday's win was only his second race start since the much reported mishap. (See Auckland Reactor out for twelve weeks)
